MASBO Institute

MASBO Institute is a four-day, intensive introduction to all areas of school business management. It is a comprehensive introduction for those new to the profession, and an effective way for those already in the profession to gain a wider overview and perspective of school business functions. Areas covered include:

  • E-12 General Ed Funding
  • Special Education Funding
  • Collective Bargaining
  • Accounting/Financial Management/Audits/UFARS
  • Communicating School District Finances
  • Investing, GASB 43//45, Trust Accounts
  • Cash Management
  • Planning School Facilities
  • Legal Issues
  • Food Service
  • Facilities Management
  • Purchasing
  • Transportation
  • Financing Capital Projects
  • Worker’s Compensation/Personnel Issues
  • Risk Management

The MASBO Institute is offered once a year (usually in February/March), and is also the first step in the MASBO Certification Program. Registration for the MASBO Institute opens in early January.

The next MASBO Institute will be held March 6-9, 2017.
